Limitless skiing fun

All six ski resorts in the Kitzbühel Alps enjoy a world reputation for quality pistes, guaranteed snow and state of the art lift facilities, ranging from Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental to KitzSki Kitzbühel / Kirchberg and from St. Johann in Tirol to the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. The Kitzbühel Alps boast around 1,000 kilometres of pistes – with plenty of variety: from young and sporty to down-to-earth, family-oriented and trendy. The SuperSkiCard is the entrance ticket to the largest ski safari in the world with its total of 2,780 kilometres of pistes, 1,000 of which are in the so-called core area of the Kitzbühel Alps.

Ski touring adventures

If you are looking for absolute tranquillity and solitude, sheer endless expanses and untouched deep-snow descents for your next ski tour, you should take a closer look at one of the enchanted tributary valleys of the Kitzbühel Alps, such as the Windau Valley, where the Lodron (1,925 m), Brechhorn (2,032 m) or Gamskogel (2,206 m) offer spectacular ascents and descents. The adjacent Kelchsau tributary valley is also a dream come true for ski tourers. Night owls come to Fieberbrunn on Fridays and Saturdays, where the Streuböden and Zillstatt slopes are open especially for tourers after 5 pm until 10 pm - solitary and safe skiing fun guaranteed. The "Dynafit Ski Touring Park" in St. Johann, on the other hand, has concentrated completely on this trend sport and offers perfect infrastructure for tourers all day. If you want to turn your back on civilisation for several days, join the local mountain guides who have been offering the KAT Ski Tour since last Winter - the six-day traverse across the Kitzbühel Alps on touring skis.

Cross-country-skiing in the Kitzbühel Alps region

The Pillerseetal valley is pure paradise for cross-country skiers and biathlon fans. In addition to numerous cross-country trails for all levels of skill, holidaymakers can watch the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen in December or even try out the combination of gliding and shooting for themselves at the guest biathlon. With the right cross-country skiing equipment from INTERSPORT Rent ski hire, your tour will be an absolute highlight.

The INTERSPORT Rent tip:

Freestylers take note: The ski area  Mittersill Kitzbühel Alps is a true paradise for runway acrobats! The action-packed Snow Park on the Hanglalm inspires the freestyle scene far beyond the borders of the Salzburg region. Thanks to modern snowmaking technology, the Snow Park, with many boxes, lines and kickers, is even available until  the end of March.
