Should it be trekking poles or Nordic Walking poles?
An outdoor tour with hiking poles provides more safety: they take the strain off your knees going downhill and help you keep your footing going uphill. On straight paths, trekking poles help you maintain a good motivating walking tempo.
The heart of Nordic Walking are the Nordic Walking poles. The poles are used specifically for this sport. By using the poles you get into a pleasant rhythm during Nordic-Walking. Whether you are on asphalt roads or in the forest, the right Nordic Walking poles will help you get the most out of your performance.
For optimum use, ask for a measurement of your body height in your INTERSPORT Rent shop, as the following rules apply depending on the activity: Nordic walking requires shorter poles, and longer poles are recommended for all other activities. In any case, it depends on your body height.
For example: a 172 cm high Nordic walker should use poles of 115 cm; for a body height of 165 cm, they should be 110 cm long. If you have a telescopic pole, you can make it 5-10 cm shorter when going uphill, and 5-10 cm longer when going downhill.
Our RENTertainers are happy to advise you on choosing the right pole and length.
