What is a Hardtail Mountain Bike?
New to the mountain biking scene? The many technical terms can be quite confusing at first. For example, what does "Hardtail" mean? A beginner might simply call it a mountain bike. In reality, it refers to a mountain bike with a suspension fork at the front wheel. Unlike a full-suspension bike, or "Fully" for short, it does not have a rear shock absorber. The only suspension is in the front fork.
The Hardtail is the original form of the mountain bike, but that doesn’t mean it’s outdated. Over the years, Hardtail mountain bikes have continued to evolve, offering great stability, low weight, and lots of riding fun. They are especially suited for uphill-oriented bikers who prefer forest roads, simple woodland trails, and routes with minor obstacles. Since they lack a rear shock, Hardtails are highly reliable and require minimal maintenance. With a Hardtail, no mountain is too high for you!
An ideal companion for athletic adventures.
These fast speedsters feature an athletic geometry for maximum traction during ascension.
They shine especially on paths without larger obstacles such as roots or stones.
