Good to know: Do you enjoy off-piste skiing in pristine powder? Then test your skills on the slopes of Mont Vallon and Mont de La Chambre and savour the feeling of freedom as the deep snow carries you down to the valley! Whether it’s a family holiday or a winter sports adventure: The region surrounding Méribel-Mottaret leaves nothing to be desired when it comes to snow fun. With excellent connections to the Les Trois Vallées ski area, you benefit from the top-notch infrastructure of the world’s largest interconnected ski area and can look forward to perfectly groomed slopes. The diverse mix of slopes caters to both beginners and advanced skiers, professionals and freeriders – and you get stunning mountain views on top!

For those who prefer a more laid-back skiing experience, staying at Méribel ski resort is a great option. With 150 kilometres of slopes, there’s plenty of variety there, too. Even as late as March, Mottaret and Méribel often get over half a metre of fresh snow. The slopes and descents, 85 per cent of which are located higher than 1,800 metres above sea level, are typically bathed in sunshine, which makes the region especially popular with leisure skiers.

Plus, there are also great options for the youngest winter sports enthusiasts, including Yeti Park with its vast range of child-friendly games and facilities.

Valley run from Sommet de la Saulire (2,738 m) to Mottaret

The Pas du Lac cable car takes you directly from Méribel-Mottaret to 2,700-metre Sommet de la Saulire. Besides the unrivalled views, it’s the unique characteristics of the descent to Mottaret that delight winter sports enthusiasts from all over the world.

Please note: This descent is only suitable for experienced skiers and snowboarders. The same applies to the run from Sommet de la Saulire to Méribel – the longest descent in the entire ski area.
